Cardon Studios seeks conscientious professional to provide private instruction on a recurring weekly basis, as well as occasionally attending special studio-wide events (Studio-wide Master Classes on the Third Friday of every month, Student Showcase performances held quarterly).
This position is part-time; various shifts available -- We have a particular need for a Thursday Piano teacher, 3-9pm. Weekend teaching availability is also desirable, for both Piano and Voice.
 
No need to travel to students' homes! Enjoy teaching and making music in our comfortable studio space, including private teachers' lounge with kitchenette and Keurig coffee.
 
Teacher should be comfortable working with all ages and styles of music; Cardon Studios services a diverse population, but our pimary clientele is adult learners. As appropriate to age, background, and natural ability, Cardon Studios provides all students with highly customized lessons, tailored to their learning style and personal goals.
 
Full administrative support is provided; teachers will maintain basic attendance records as their timecard submission for payroll, but otherwise will have no responsibility for scheduling or lesson management.
 
The successful applicant will hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Music.
 
Primary Responsibilities and Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of private teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to differentiate instruction based on student goals and needs
  • Comfort with a variety of musical genres and ability to adapt to students' desired songs
  • Basic skills in the operation of a computer and simple cloud-based softwares
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to create solutions
  • Basic workplace etiquette and common courtesy for fellow teachers and administrators
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a diverse population
  • Ability to plan ahead and pace instruction accordingly to prepare for studio performances (four studio-wide recitals yearly)
  • Dedication to quality service and meeting students' needs effectively
Compensation
  • Rate of pay will be $30-40/hour, DOE.
