The Washington Bach Consort, the nation’s premiere baroque orchestra, is seeking a part-time Patron Services Associate to administer the Consort’s box office and ticketing functions.
The position serves as the primary point of contact for subscribers, single ticket buyers, and guests attending the Consort’s performances and events. The position maintains relationships, answers questions, and provides any assistance necessary to ensure that a positive patron experience at every Consort event. The Patron Services Associate maintains closely working relationships with the organization’s development and external relations staff, as well as the board of directors.
 
The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience working effectively with patrons/donors with expertise ticketing, box office, fundraising, or sales environment. The position requires an aptitude for technology and database management and experience with Patron Manager or similar software is ideal, though training may be made available to ensure high database maintenance standards are met.
 
The position is non-exempt and work hours will be 25–30 hours/week year-round with attendance expected at occasional evening events and weekend performances. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, holidays, and more.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Daily box office duties such as assisting subscribers and single ticket buyers with exchanges, directions, purchases, ticket printing, donations, and questions. The incumbent also leads the annual subscription campaign and handles complimentary tickets and group sales.
  • Enter financial transactions into Patron Manager, tickets, subscriptions, earned revenue, etc.
  • Communicate with Patron Manager about changes to seat maps, ticket layout, database organization, subscription renewals, and general help questions.
  • Coordinate concerts, set-up, ticket sales, will-call, merchandise, programs, oversee volunteers.
  • Create and edit all concert programs.
  • Manage direct mail, assist with online appeals, mailings, and coordinate with staff.
  • Order items and maintain/run the Bach Boutique, the Consort’s merchandise shop.
  • Coordinate online donation opportunities including website management. Provide support for ticket buyers and donors at all performances and fundraising events.
  • Maintain the database and pull reports for all members of the staff.
  • Administrative functions, clerical assistance, prepare mailings, coordinating vendors, etc.
Qualifications
  • BA degree required
  • Minimum two years relevant experience
  • Deadline-, detail-, and budget-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Mathematical mindset with experience managing financial transactions
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, and to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Friendly phone manner and excellent computer and customer service skills
  • Experience with PatronManager software or similar ticketing / fundraising database management preferred
  • A background in classical music or performing arts organizations preferred
