BeckpixRebecca Anstine Smith has enjoyed a distinguished career as a professional harpist and teacher for over 25 years.

Currently Rebecca  takes great joy in providing harp lessons to students of all ages and levels.

Mrs. Smith holds  Bachelor of Arts degrees in music and in French, magna cum laude, with departmental honors in music.  

Upon graduation, Rebecca studied with Jeanne Chalifoux at the Peabody Conservatory.  There she received the Master of Music degree in harp performance.  

For many summers Rebecca studied with Alice Chalifoux at the SalzedoSummer Harp Colony in Camden, Maine. She also studied at Tanglewoodwith Lucile Lawrence.  

Rebecca's teaching credits include, Howard University, the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, George Washington University, and the University of Maryland, College Park. Currently she teaches at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Anne Arundel Community College.
