JaniceWilson2Jan Wilson, Mezzo-Soprano/Alto

People are often surprised when I say I'm a professional singer.  I usually respond by saying, "I LOVE singing Verdi, Mozart, and Duruflé Requiems, Beethoven's Ninth, Mahler's Symphony No. 2 (and 3!), Handel's MessiahDas Lied von der Erde, and everything else in-between."  I have established a solo career performing with orchestras, love doing recital work, plus ensemble performances of new and old works, and much more.  My experiences in London, at the Royal College of Music and Bach Choir of London, and in New York, as a regular member of the New York Choral Artists with the New York Philharmonic, have given me a broad range of experience both as a solo singer, and professional choral singer.
Orchestra solo conductors I have worked with include Grant Cooper, Lawrence Loh, Sir David Willcocks, Andrew Constantine, Eckart Preu, Allen R. Scott, Alfred Savia, Barbara Yahr, Markand Thakar, Scott Speck, Nicholas Palmer, David Wiley, and so many more.  As a professional choral singer, I have sung with the New York Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart performances under conductors Alan Gilbert, Kurt Masur, Lorin Maazel, Louis Langree, Sir Colin Davis, Rafael Frühberg de Burgos, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and many more.
No, I'm not a name-dropper, believe me!  I just wanted to share some of the incredibly wonderful performing I've experienced and hope to continue with conductors and ensembles in the DC/VA/MD area.  Thank you!  Please contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots.
