Friends,
A quick message to invite you to a contemplative lunchtime concert this Friday, Sept. 14, at Catholic University, 1:00 p.m. It’s a half-hour concert of sacred devotional music that I’m singing with Laura Choi Stuart, soprano, Vincent Fung, bass, and Mark Janello, harpsichord. The star of the show is the plainchant hymn Vexilla Regis, which you’ll hear in several iterations including a beautiful trio for the three singers and harpsichord by Francesco Feroci. Other music is by Sabino...

Jubilee Voices will join the Talbot Avenue Bridge Centennial to celebrate the 100th birthday of the wood-and-steel bridge, which connected the historically African-American community of Lyttonsville with the rest of Silver Spring, on September 22.
The Voices will perform music from across the spectrum of the African-American experience, from 19th-century shouts and spirituals to anthems of the Civil Rights movement.

"You can go ahead and pull the St. Charles Ads on singer source - we've found everyone we need!

Thanks as always for the wonderful service you provide; singer source is still my favorite networking and info spreading spot for grabbing talented musicians".
Madelaine Beckford, M.M., Director of Liturgy and Music, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church

Many thanks for expediting this.  I have long wanted to join Singer Source and have admired the work you have done on behalf of the singing community. Larry Vote, Professor of Music, St. Mary's College of Maryland and Music Director, St. Francis Episcopal, Great Falls

"I've thought that ever since you started Singer Source -- what an important service to the DC choral world.  I always tell people about hiring a tenor for New Year's Eve something like 25 years ago, and he didn't even want to see the music ahead of time.  It was Elliott Carter, Charles Ives, Woollen, and Evett -- really hard stuff.  I said this man is either an unbelievably skilled musician or totally crazy.  HE WAS AMAZING!!  Bless you!"
Kerry L. Krebill, Artistic Director, Musikanten (Bethesda MD) and Musikanten Montana (Helena MT); Choirmaster, St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral ("The Episcopal Church in Helena"); General Director, Helena Choral Week and Montana Early Music Festival

"Over the past three years Lisa Koehler and her company, SingerSource, LLC, have been an indispensable resource for me in accomplishing my goals as music director at a small Episcopal Parish with minimal choral resources.  Whether my need is for a substitute singer to support congregational singing with a simple anthem, or for a solo voice for a specific work, Lisa’s experience as a singer and professional church musician and her knowledge of the D.C. area talent base is an invaluable part of my tool chest of resources.  She knows the literature and the singers who can sing it best for my particular situation.  The ability to speak with Lisa directly when necessary helps to provide the confidence that I will be contracting the right person for the engagement.  Her personable demeanor and knowledge base make Lisa my “go to” person when I need to contract outside singers.  I heartily recommend her company and the services that it provides". Steven Benson

"As we say over here,  you are CHAWsome"!  Jill Strachen, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop
~
"Thank you for the wonderful service you provide us musicians!  You may remove the ads for soprano and bass section leaders.  Two people were hired".
Bruce Caviness, Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church

"Just wanted to let you know that, soon after I renewed my Singer Source posting, I got a referral for a college student who wants to coach 14 hours with me over Christmas break! Needless to say, my posting on singersource.com has definitely been a wonderful investment. Thanks for all you do"! Joel Ayau, Collaborative Pianist

"I have now completed auditions, as of today,  for the alto section leader at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Alexandria, so please remove the advertisement for this from Singer Source.   I had a large number of candidates audition thanks to your wonderful resource.  There’s nothing like this resource and few candidates for church positions in Richmond where I worked for many years.   You provide a truly valuable service. Many thanks".
Grant Hellmers, Organist and Choirmaster, St. Paul's Episcopal, Alexandria

"Just to let you know you can pull that ad I sent you in December.  You win again!  I just hired a tenor who responded to the ad, and he and I are both really pleased.  Again, thank you"!
Roy Guenther, Music Director, Resurrection Lutheran Church

"Lisa Koehler's organization is a real blessing and an invaluable resource to all of us who value the choral art and want to make sure it prospers. Singer Source helps us all connect in a city that is universally recognized as the "Choral Capitol of the Country". "Singer Source" says it all - it's the one source for those who sing and those who seek their services".
J. Reilly Lewis, Music Director of The Washington Bach Consort, Cathedral Choral Society and Clarendon United Methodist Church (RIP, Reilly.  :( Thanks for writing this for me).

"Lisa, You provide such a valuable and professional service. We are fortunate to have you in this area. Thanks."
~ Thomas Stehle, Pastoral Associate for Liturgy, Director of Music Ministries, Cathedral of St Matthew the Apostle

"Lisa Koehler and Singer Source provide a tremendous service to both singers and directors. She works hard to connect musicians who might otherwise have no way to find each other and seems to have an intuitive understanding of the needs of both parties. She is reliable, responsive, and unflappable. I feel very fortunate to have her help in finding contract and sub work."   ~  Bob Schiff, baritone
~
"Thank you again for your services. SingerSource is such a great resource!"
Christiane DeVries Boles, Program Coordinator, Opera Education, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts~

"Singer Source is the No. 1 resource for accessing first-class singing talent.  Not only does Lisa match up just the right talent with your event, she does it quickly and professionally.  Sometimes having the right singer quickly is just as critical as having one at all.  Lisa always comes through." Carol Anderson, Anderson Communications
