To assist in cultivating and leading the worship music ministry for Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, in consultation with the Director of Music and Pastoral Staff.


 Select, plan and rehearse music weekly for 1 Chapel Choir (grade 6-12), 1 Junior Choir (grade 3-5) and 1 Carol Choir (K-2) and with each choir participating in approximately one-two services every month March through May 21, and September 10 through December 24, 2017.
 Lead the Sunday School Music Time by teaching hymns and songs to grades K-4 on Sundays March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2, 23, 30, and October 1-November 19. 
 Select, plan, rehearse and produce Children’s Christmas Pageant in cooperation with Sunday School Classes and teachers. Rehearsals to be on Sunday during normal choir times.
 Assist the Director of Music in planning Christmas Concert and prepare and rehearse the selected Choir for the event.
 Maintain communication with volunteer musicians, choristers and their families.
 Consider participation in the choral festivals and prepare the choirs for the event accordingly. 
 Serve as an Organist/Choir Director in absence of the Director of Music (6 Sundays)
 Communicate faithfully with the Director of Music and the Pastoral Staff. 
 Assist, support and coordinate with the Director of Music.
 Attend staff meeting during program year.


 Bachelors degree in Music. 
 Minimum five years experience in church related setting.
 Intermediate organ skill preferred.
 Strong team player with staff and congregation. 
 Committed to the church's vision, leadership, and people. 
 Dependable, responsible, self-motivated and creative. 

Core Competencies:

 Versatile in a range of styles of sacred music.
 Knowledge of vocal development, production and training for elementary through high school age singers.
 Ability to lead worship and to train all ages of volunteer musicians as worship leaders. 
 Clear, precise and communicative choral conducting skills.

Compensation range - $5760.00 - $6480.00
