THE JOURNEY HOME with the Alexandria Choral Society

10.21.2017 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

The 2017-18 Alexandria Choral Society season begins with THE JOURNEY HOME, a program that examines our lives as wanderers - in both the spiritual and physical sense.

We will present works like Josef Rheinberger’s 'Abendlied' and C.H.H. Parry’s 'Crossing the Bar' that entreat the heavens for protection throughout a darkening evening, and others, like James Erb’s 'Shenandoah,' Howard Helvey’s 'When for Eternal Worlds We Steer,' and Matthew Culloton’s 'Deep River' that intone a longing for comfort and familiarity after a long voyage.

Date: Saturday, October 21, 7:30 p.m.
Location: Fairlington United Methodist Church, 3900 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22302
Tickets: $20 for adults, $15 senior/military/student when purchased in advance at
