Grace United Methodist Church in Baltimore is hiring a Bass Soloist and Section Leader beginning January 1, 2023. The time commitment includes a weekly choir rehearsal on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. from September to May and a weekly Sunday morning commitment singing in our 10 a.m. worship service with warm-ups starting at 9 a.m. Every fifth week, the soloist is responsible to lead the hymn singing as well as singing a solo at the 8:15 a.m. worship service. Other solo opportunities are available as well. The responsibilities of the position include leading the bass section in the Chancel Choir, singing at our annual Christmas Concert, as well as worship services on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and an occasional Spring Concert. This is a salaried position set at $6,250 with ten vacation days, that averages out to approximately $72 per call.

Applicants should have a voice performance degree or extensive singing experiences with strong sight-reading skills and a collaborative spirit. Grace Church has a long tradition of a vibrant music ministry established by Mr. Bruce Eicher. Grace Church is known for its traditional worship services in which our thirty-voice volunteer Chancel Choir, with the assistance of our five professional soloists, leads worship.
