St. John’s, Langley Parish (McLean) is expanding its roster of staff singers from four to seven this fall, while eliminating weeknight rehearsals in order to attract busy yet highly-qualified professionals, as well as skilled volunteers.

The choir season runs from the Sunday after Labor Day to Trinity Sunday (typically early June); summer Sundays are shared by staff singers as soloists / small groups.

The regular weekly schedule starting this September will be:

Sundays, 8:55-10:05am - Rehearsal

Sundays, 10:15am - Holy Eucharist, Rite II

Compensation: $195 per call.

There are additional calls during Advent, Christmas, and Holy Week.

The church is located at 6715 Georgetown Pike, one mile inside the Capital Beltway, and approximately three miles from the Chain Bridge and George Washington Parkway.

The qualified applicant will possess a well-developed, reliable, and flexible vocal technique, as well as a professional, pleasant, and approachable personality. Excellence in sight-singing and/or private preparation of music is essential. Marked scores will be made available in print and electronically well in advance of rehearsals.

Priority hires for the fall are ATB; all applicants will be considered for our substitute list and for holidays. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
