The Choir of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Washington, D.C., seeks a bass section leader/soloist. From the Sunday following Labor Day through Trinity Sunday, the choir sings for the weekly 10:30 a.m. Eucharist, rehearsing from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Additional calls include Christmas Eve, Holy Week services, and post-service rehearsals on Sundays before Christmas and Holy Week. Attendance at Holy Week and Christmas services and rehearsals prior to both is mandatory. The fee is $133.90 per call.
Qualified candidates will have experience as both a choral singer and vocal soloist (oratorio, Gospel, contemporary), sight read extremely well, learn their notes outside of rehearsal, receive direction well, be sympathetic to the ethos of our worshiping community, and have a cheerful disposition.
