St. Paul's Parish, K Street (at 25th Street near the Foggy Bottom/GWU metro), is looking for a paid tenor section leader to begin immediately.

St. Paul’s has a uniquely strong tradition of Anglican choral music with a high national and international profile. The semi-professional adult parish choir sings each Sunday, twelve months a year, at the 10:30 AM Solemn Mass. The call time is 9:30 AM.  Each Sunday’s repertoire includes a complete setting of the Mass ordinary, anthems, motets, and Gregorian propers, all chosen from the great treasury of Western church music. The choir rehearses each Thursday evening of the program year from 7:00-9:30 PM. Section leaders also support Solemn High Mass on regular weekday holy days (approximately 15 times a year) and as part of the Evensong & Benediction choir (approximately 20 times a year). There are six paid section leaders. All choir members, paid and volunteer, sing to a professional standard. Compensation is $100 per call; cumulative annual earning potential of up to $14,000.

Required skills include strong sight-reading ability and ensemble singing experience, blending and singing in a style appropriate to Anglican church music and Renaissance polyphony, and making music in a positive, demanding, and rewarding atmosphere of collegiality.
