The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer is hiring a Tenor section leader starting September, 2026. The successful candidate will join Redeemer’s 25-member adult choir for a minimum of 2 calls per week: Thursday evening rehearsals (7:30pm-9pm) and our Sunday morning, 10:30am Eucharist. There are many more service opportunities throughout the year, especially during Advent and Holy Week. Additionally, special choral concerts, weddings and funerals will be further occasions for engagement.
The rate of pay is $110 per call. Special concerts, services and other choral events are paid at a rate of $135 per call. Base season earnings are around $9,550.00, but can be much higher depending on additional services. The choir season runs from the second Sunday in September through the second Sunday in June; usually Trinity Sunday depending on the church calendar.
Redeemer’s choral repertoire is extensively broad and fulfilling, ranging from Renaissance polyphony to present day. At our core, however, is our strong Anglican tradition of 19th/20th century masterworks. Therefore, candidates interested in this position should ideally be experienced in the repertoire and traditions of the Anglican Church. Exceptional sight-reading skills are a must, as well as the ability to lead and support your section.
