Christ Lutheran Church of Washington, DC, is calling a Section Leader for a Soprano position beginning September 10th, 2026. A soprano and tenor professional singer, alongside the Minister of Music, support the chancel choir. CLC is dedicated to an accessible musical experience in worship including organ, piano, instrumental solos, and the newly formed handbell choir. Located in the 16th Street Heights neighborhood, CLC is a welcoming community that values people and music of diverse styles.
Benefits of the position include:
- Thursday evening rehearsal (7:30pm - 9:00pm) - $50 rehearsal call
- Sunday morning service (9:45am - 12:15pm) - $100 service call
- One anthem, periodic solo/duet, hymns, and simple liturgy
- Soloist repertoire when presenting large works.
Required Holy days:
Reformation Sunday, All-Saints Sunday, Christmas Day (am Lessons and Carols), Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Holy Week.
■ Exceptions could be made if an appropriate substitute is agreed upon with the Minister of Music.
It is the responsibility of the section leader to find an appropriate substitute if an absence occurs.
